"Appeal on behalf of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (August 1st 2002)
In support of the recent appeal by the International Federation for help with averting the food crisis that millions of people are facing in Southern Africa, mIRC users will be able to help by registering their copies of mIRC this month.
If you register your copy of mIRC at any time in August, this month, 100% of your registration will be donated to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for use in their Southern Africa food crisis appeal. If you've enjoyed using mIRC but haven't registered your copy yet, you can register now, and help at the same time.

Last time Khaled did this was after Sept. 11th and it generated over 20K USD if i recall correctly (i might be misstaken) that amount of money can help ALOT of hungry people in africa.
